Dear Dabgp, I have had an intermitent noisey tappet for the last 30000 miles - most noticable on a cold start. It usualy goes away after a couple of minutes but I think I will replace it soon. Euro car parts do the hydraulic tappet for under £10.00 + vat. Replacing it is pretty straight forwards if you are mechanicaly minded - finding the faulty one may require a bit of trial and error. The best way is to hold the handle of a large screwdriver to your ear while holding the tip of the blade at various points along the rocker cover and making an estimate of which tappet is noisey. Good luck John
