Subject: Timing Chains



Hi all,
        With all this talk of timing chains at the moment, can anyone tell
me when SAAB recommend changing them?  I've just bought a 9000 S 2.3 Turbo
with 118,000 miles on it.  Should I be looking to change the chain and is it
much of a job?
  My old 900 Turbo never had a chain changed and I sold that with 200,000 on
it, still going strong.  I have heard that when you change the chain on a
Balance-Shaft engine, it is often neccessary to change all of the sprockets
as well, is this true?
