Subject: Re: Turbo test

Hi Peter, i've been told this method to test the charger ( it applies to the classic 900, but should be the same with your's...): <quote> 1. unplug the right hose (looking forward) from the solenoid valve. 2. make sure you use the best grade fuel.... 3. warm up the car, and then do some heavy accelerations, and see, if the needle goes into the red, BUT.... *** ! DON'T OVERDO IT, OR YOU'LL FRY YOUR ENGINE !!!! *** Step of the gas pedal once it reaches the red or you hear the valves pinging. If it's no problem to reach the red, then your charger is ok and it's pretty likely the APC unit is giving you the trouble.... </quote> I've been told this, and haven't tested it, cause my low/unsteady bosst problem was more or less cured by using better graded fuel . good luck... ben Peter Kukura <pkukuranopsams.com> wrote: > I do not think that the turbo on my 94 9000CSE is working properly. > When driving and accelerating rapidly the indicator moves slightly into > yellow region of the scale but no appreciable acceleration or a "turbo > kick-in" occurs. > > Any help would be appreciated.
