Subject: Front shocks



My '88 900T is in need of front shocks (desperately I might add).  My
Bentley book states something to the effect that 'Saab shocks incorporate a
special stop function and only Saab shocks should be used or damage to other
parts may occur'.

Now the shocks from Saab are +ACQ-63 each vs. +ACQ-35 for what my garage wants to
put in.  Now normally I would just spend the money but the Saab dealer did
not have them in stock which makes me wonder what is up with all this.
Should I order the shocks from Saab or is there an equivalent replacement on
the market?
