Hello! I have a 1986 900S 16V DOHC with 110K miles. The other day I was driving it and the check engine light came on. Right after that, if the RPM dropped below 1500 and I pressed the accelerator, the vehicle would stall. It starts fine and idles fine. But if I press the accelerator it stalls. As it is if I nurse it past the stall point and I keep the RPM at 1500 to 2000 she runs fine. She has a new distributor new plug wires plugs and when the above happened I changed the fuel filter. Problem still happening. I read in Car Talk about a manufacturing defect in the cold start valve for that particular year/model but - since she starts fine and it's hot as hell - didn't think this was the problem. Any assistance rendered would be much appreciated! No more Saab mechanics in my area -- closest is 2 hours drive away. Post here to share your knowledge with posterity or e-mail your secrets. Thanks! Best Mac
