On 08 Aug 1999 21:32:34 GMT, just as I was about to see how much duct tape you REALLY need to stop a gerbil from exploding, tgreenw900nopsamcom (TGreenw900) distracted me by babbling thusly: >You have to go to a dealer to get the ISAT hooked up to give you the fault >codes. I want to get something so we all can get the codes on our laptops. >With out the codes your lost, with them you can pinpoint the trouble. >Might be the vacuum hoses or ECU? If you find a way for us weenies to get the >codes let me know. > >TSG >94 9000 CS As an aside, I will soon be developing (before the end of the year - spare time permitting) a program for Windows and an interface for the connector on my 1990 classic 900 turbo 16V. This will display both the numeric fault code and the text description of the code. I was going to design a dedicated hand-held instrument coplete with LCD, and still might, but this is a quick-and-dirty way out for the time being. The reason I still might go ahead with the hand-held one is that during a long interstate trip, if anything goes, I'd really like to have something in the glovebox. SAAB mechanics are pretty rare out here, and away from the capital cities, non-existent. I'll post the details when the time comes.
