On Fri, 6 Aug 1999 09:38:17 +1000, just as I was about to see how much duct tape you REALLY need to stop a gerbil from exploding, "Andrew Cameron" <actechnopsamenet.com.au> distracted me by babbling thusly: >scary ! >I bought a 89 900 16 valve to replace a BMW 3.0S... > >must be a common progression huh ? Oh I dunno. I loved the 3,0LA we had, but it was a question of suitability. Too big for her to drive around for shopping trips. Having said that, after throwing around my 2,3Litre E21 for 10 years, I swore I'd never buy another 4 cylinder car again. The BMW 6 is the ultimate 6 cylinder in-line, and I actually almost bought an Alpina. But after experiencing the 16V turbo, I had no qualms about driving another 4-cylinder again. And now that I've wound up the boost into the little red zone.... well.... YEEEEEEHAAAAAAAAAARRR!!!! I am not excessive. Remember that.
