FYI/FWIW: The earlier turbo cars (thru about '84 or so) had a metal strap between the throttle body and the intercooler or turbo pipe, just to prevent this from happening. When they switched to the newer, molded rubber connectors (black instead of red), they dropped the strap arrangement. Whenever I've done major boost increases, I've made my own.
