I've had a 900s for 2 years now, 94 model and whilst I haven't had major problems before I am having to replace the front disks at 80,000kms. I am told that the disks have to be soft to get the beast to stop due to the added mass of the V6. Other than that I am concerned that the gearbox is weak. I cannot put my finger on it but it just feels that way. Clutch is also the heaviest manual I have ever driven. But I like the performance and the handling and the way most of the time Saabs just feel good to drive. I had a drive of a Monte Carlo the other day. It is a limited edition BRIGHT YELLOW 9-3 with body kit, uprated suspension and 147kw motor. A beaut car but the performance was not much more than my 900s, imho anyway. and AUD70k was a little steep for my bank balance. I would be interested to hear exactly what expensive problems you have had, to see what is in store for me if I decide to keep the car much longer. Chris.
