I had a '94 V-6 until I traded it in on a '98 Turbo. Go to a dealer and check for incorporation of all recalls and service bulletins. They have access to a computer database by VIN. There were several service bulletins and recalls on the '94. Some of them were not publicized, and were done only if a dealer decided a car needed it during routine servicing. Therefore, a specific dealer may have skipped one on some cars. I found, after moving from CA to WA, that the CA dealer skipped one, did an incomplete job on another, and a bad job on a third. The WA dealer completed all 3, plus another that had come out subsequently. Some of the items covered: Front suspension -- causes shimmy above 60 mph (bushings and tires) Water pump Belt pulley Gearbox leak Whistling noise at high speed (windshield seal or padding in front fenders) Seat rails Rear doors 4-cyl engine (forgot the specifics) Other than that, the V-6 is plagued with a timing belt that lasts 30,000 miles. After 95,000 miles, the owner will have to pay for replacements. -- John R.
