Subject: Alternator Whine in Multi AMP/xover configuration

Hi All, Here's my problem. I installed a changer unit in my 89 Saab 900. I ran an RCA cable to the back of the rig and set up a two amplifier unit to power my 4x10's and my dual subwoofer box. I ran heavy gauge wire from the junction box off of the battery and isolated the power to the amps. When I use the amps alone, they sound fine, but when I feed a crossover the signal ( Profile qx9) I get aload whine which goes up and down with the engine RPM's. I have tried moving the grounds around. I have tried unifiying the grounds. I have tried running a cable from the front ground point in the car to the back. Still the whine persists. ( as does mine...) I have tried ground loop isolators and engine noise eliminators to no avail. Has anyone ever run into this before and how did they solve it. Thanks in advance to anyone who can answer this one. Rob
