Subject: winter driving preparations start now

My dealership is offering Blizzaks on plain-jane steel rims (with hubcaps), mounted and balanced for $1000CDN. That's about $680US. One of the reasons I bought another SAAB was for the clearly superior quality (and fun) of winter driving. If widely available, I think this winter footwear switchover is a great deal for Canadian and northern American drivers. It serves to promote the virtues that makes the marque so special as well as competitive with these stupid giant SUVs whose inept, over-confident drivers are the scourge of the highways, especially in winter. I want to be able to stay out of their way. It also serves to promote strong word-of-mouth SAAB sales as true winter driving can be a lot more pleasant (and fun) than less winter-competitive automakers want to have you believe. For oil, I have decided to go with Tufoil and Mobil 1. I think if you do your research, you'll find there is a payoff despite the fact you pay more up front for these products. For all exterior glass surfaces I use any of the rain repellants which also do a great job of repelling scummy industrial and tree residues. Less wear on the blades as you use them a lot less; less windshield scratching too. For leather: Lexol. For carpets and door upholstery: Scotchguard and a spare, color-matched floor mat for the driver area. For vinyl and rubber compound preservation: Turtle's Black Chrome. Now, to solve the salt/sand/sun problem for the (black) exterior metal surfaces without dumping a lot of cash. Is Zymol really THAT good? * Sent from RemarQ http://www.remarq.com The Internet's Discussion Network * The fastest and easiest way to search and participate in Usenet - Free!
