This is probably redundant with what a lot of other respondants have to say, but I would skip it merely because it's a "salvage" car. A car is not labeled "salvage" because it has a little grill damage. This tells me I can't trust the guy. Who knows what else is wrong with it. He's trying to pass the burden of a problem car on to someone else. Aesthetics aren't everything. It may look fine but have untold problems hidden underneath. If it were my money on the line, I'd keep looking. But when you do find one you think is sound, still have it thoroughly inspected, at a dealer if you can. This will run you $100-150, but will save you potentially thousands in the long run. Learn from the voice of experience. >The car was in an >accident, and is a salvage that was repaired by the guy selling the car (it's a >private party sale). He says it had front grill damage ... nothing structural. >If he hadn't told me, I wouldn't be able to tell; it's in good condition inside >and out. I would have the car checked by a mechanic before buying
