Subject: Re: 1995 Conv Top Busted

Hi, For my opinion, thereīs only a SAAB service center who can repair that, not that no one else can weld the bar, but the electronic logic that operates the "new" 900 top is very complex and has to be handled carefully! And: No, itīs no fun to lower the top of the new 900 manually, itīs nearly impossible, I watched my mechanic doning that together with 2 others mechanics, it nearly took half an hour (and a lot of electronical black boxes). btw: operating the old 900 top manually is not funny but possible to do with 2 people and 5-10min. (bypass valve) On the other hand: Ifīs not normal that such things may happen! I donīt know where you are located, but if you are in the US it should be no problem to complain about that at the responsible guys (importeur), even the top cloth of the old 900 was changed sometimes in "warrenty" (2500 $ job) in the US when you complained very very loud (but those .... guys didnīt do that here in EU) Greetings RCS 1993 900 t conv (still first top and still all bows ok) kierantaylornopsamo.com wrote: > The top on my 95 900s convertible will only lower itself one out of five > tries. 4/5 of the time it appears that one side of the top is lowering > without incident while the the other side gets stuck The display panel > reads Check Soft Top. > > I took it to the dealer who informed me that the fifth bow in the top is > broken.
