Yes, I bought a new one in March 99 and love it. It is a bit noisy on start-up but once warm is very smooth and quiet. Performance is excellent and around town I achieve about 40mpg and on highways travelling about 65mph around 55-60mpg. build quality so far seems excellent. I previously had a 1997 VW Passat which was beset by problems and certainly wasn't as well built as the Saab. I certainly have no regrets about buying the 9-3 diesel and 6 months after purchase I have had no reason whatsoever to return to the dealer.
