Well, there is nothing that bothers me more than people who buy these expensive vehicles (and not just SAAB) and then whine about the cost of parts and service. Shouldn't they look into that before a purchase? It is just my feeling that you get what you pay for and YES it is very expensive when compared to other American vehicles. It seems to me that those kind of people buy more for the image, than the enjoyment of a well built automobile. > > There is something wrong with this picture. They did that with the oil changes a while back, but when you get into the nitty gritty of tech problems, you need the professional and that costs $$$$. I think of it like a Dr. for my car and when I am sick and no one can figure out what is going on with me, I start going to the specialists and paying for tests, and cost isn't such a concern anymore. Just my way of thinking. Anyway, I think Saab's reputation is good, my 900S and my SPG didn't need work done much at all, unlike the 9000. But, I like the 9000 better for all the little extras and the added room. To me, Saab isn't the kind of car company aimed at "mainstream" America. They have their niche and they know who it is. I don't mind paying more when I know the money is being used to develop more safety features (like the head-rests) and put back into training of techs and service. But, everyone looks at it differently. Sent via Deja.com http://www.deja.com/ Share what you know. Learn what you don't.
