I don't know which car in particular you are talking about but here is my own experience of wheel tire combinations on classic SAAB 900. 1) 205x60-15 - Only if you want to cruise! sidewall far too big for good handling. 2) 205x55-15 - Much better handling and pretty near to standard rolling circumference. 3) 205x50-15 - Better handling still but car is geared down by about 4%. 4) 215x45-17 - Far too big, doesn't work well at all on the SAAB. Car tramlines all over the place and the suspension has to be set really hard to stup it rubbing. I haven't tried it yet but probably the best combination for the classic 900 is 205x50-16. DO NOT fit bigger than 205 wide tires, they will rub on the bumps or under hard cornering. BTW the grippiest SAABS I have been in run on 205-50x15. Neil.
