The multiple keys are a result of having to change the lock cylinders. My guess would have to be that 1) The ignition lock was changed because of all the crud that built up in the slot 2) Someone broke into the trunk and that cylinder was changed. It is possible to have the mechanisms changed to all work off of the same key.
