Ya never know. I just bought a '91 900S with 85K for $5,300 and could but another grand into it fairly soon---CV, Oil leaks and Coolant leaks...And this was checked out by a SAAB shop. All they found was "a bit of oil and a bit of coolent on the engine---don't worry" We still haven't found the exact source of either! Looked great---but it has quite a history/present! This one had a new 5speed at 65K. I'm begining to believe that a dealer who offers a 30-90 day warranty is worth the extra dollars?! Within a couple of months ya should have gotten to know the new child rather well. A friend who visits the auctions says he usually sees SAABs 'AS Is'...not many dealers want to risk it with a guaranteed checklist. I went back to my personal mechanic and he wonders "why SAAB'S seem to have the same problems throughout the 900 series with ample time to correct the engineering..." They do seem to be kinda 'leaky, early'. My guess is ya become an 'SAAB Expert' the hard way...Good Luck!
