Subject: Will a power inverter dammage my Saab?



Hi all.

I am building an MP3 player to integrate with my stereo in my 1995 9000 CS.
The player itself will be a pentium 166 with a sound card and a hard drive
and a network interface card.

To power the computer I am planning on installing a 140W power inverter.

My question is:  Since this inverter will be powering the system and drawing
off the car's battery (only when the car is running of course), will this
cause any dammage to my car's electrical system?  Will this cause
unnecessary strain on the alternator?
