Subject: Re: differences between 2.3L and 2.0L 16v engines

Then, I take it a 2.3 from any Saab would be equally acceptable (either a 900 or a 9000) ? Are there any aprticular years to stay away from? I would deffinately be pulling a motor from a wrecked car (cheaper, and it would allow me to salvage all of the parts I need). Yes, doing an engine swap is my idea of fun. I wanted to put a turbo on my Quad4 powered Achieva, but I had neither the time nor the money. After driving the Saab; I realized that unless completely balanced and blueprinted, the Quad4 would probably shake itself apart when boosted. I won't be doing the 2.0 to 2.3 swap any time soon, but it's good to know ahead of time that it is possible.
