Subject: I have the SAME problem

My wife hit a puddle (about 12" deep) with our 1999 Saab 9-3 and the engine stopped running. After towing to my dealer, they said we had hydro-lock, and that they'd pumped the water out, gotten it started and everything should be ok. They charged me $200 for this. Upon getting it back, it was VERY difficult to start and stalled when cold, but after it warmed up, was fine. Brought it back and they charged me $80 to clean a sensor. Well, now it's even worse.... starts ok.. but idles at VERY HIGH rpm and the car bucks when my foot is off the throttle. At a standstill, the rpms go UP and DOWN .... probably the cause of this bucking. Do you think I should be paying for these repairs or should Saab cover this under warranty?? Seems like this car should just die like this from a puddle. My wife said that all the other cars were driving thru this puddle without a problem and many subcompact cars were among them. Thanks..... Sam
