This is a question that is frequent, with regard to 900's. I've investigated this for my own 900, but not for a 9000. Once I learned *all* that had to be changed for the 900's non-turbo to turbo conversion, I ran away and hid in a closet: - exhaust - wiring harness - fuel line, front to back, - fuel pressure regulator (likely) - clutch (while you're in there...) - CV boots (ditto above) - engine, of course - intercooler - dash displays (for the turbo display) - brains - AC, perhaps. The mounts may not be compatible. - etc. You still here? The worst part about the conversion is the wiring harness. They can be very brittle on the older cars. Troubleshooting a break in the insulation would be a nightmare. For a 900, the job *can* be done. Piece by piece, move the parts from one car to the other. This takes the mechanic I see about 10 hours. Typically I double his time estimates to arrive at my time estimates. For a 9000 2.0 ->2.3, not sure if the motor mounts are the same. Are you handy with a torch (welding)? Do you really like the body of your 9000 that much? Do you really have that much spare time? Can I buy some? It may be more feasible to just sell it and buy an Aero. -chris
