I bought in '95 with 82k miles. At 120k it blew a head gasket (did the work myself except for the machining). The car has 170,000 miles and no problems with engine since then except that I'm noticing some oil leakage. I suspect pressure buildup in the crank case. Probably some clogged vent tubes. I have had the blower fan replaced‹tried to do that myself ("not fun" is an understatement). Many of the little lights have burned out and are not readily available. The digital display showing trip/fuel consumption, outside temp, and other readings has stopped working. The head liner started falling two years ago and finally replace the foam backed cloth this summer for $50.00. ABS light has been on for about 15k miles witch means that obviously they're not functioning and that a sensor needs replaced or the the more expensive pump has failed. The car still runs strong and still can reach 125 mph. I use it like a truck for hauling large items‹a bunk bed frame and mattresses all at once (these fit easily inside the car but the hatch cannot be closed); I carried 16 8" cement blocks and a bag of mortar yesterday (750 lbs.) including my two kids a cooler for a day at my camp 100 mile away over PA mountains and down our 1 mile dirt road. I expect to get another 100 grand on the car. ---------- In article <7sdr8u$uc4$1nopsamt.euro.net>, "Harrie van Dijk" <icu08140nopsamnet.nl> wrote: Looking at a 88 2.0 16v Turbo with leather seats, climate and cruise control etc etc. Anny suggestions what to look for in regard to future trouble? --MS_Mac_OE_3021183325_448918_MIME_Part Content-type: text/html; charset="ISO-8859-1" Content-transfer-encoding: quoted-printable <HTML> <HEAD> <TITLE>Re: 88 9000 to buy or not to buy</TITLE> </HEAD> <BODY BGCOLOR=3D"#FFFFFF"> I have a '88 9000T.
