All that shouldn't have happened to you at 50,000 miles. My 1986 900S has a timing chain (do the newer Saabs have timing belts?) and my car was at 238,000 miles when the timing chain started going. I was lucky and heard it, so it was replaced before it hurt the engine. It was $180 US dollars for me to fix. Timing belts break sooner than chains do, but I hope they don't do it every 50,000 miles. Do you have a warranty on your car? Saabs are supposed to be 6 year/60,000 miles aren't they? -- Ellis http://users.rcn.com/ljstier/
