Peter, Seems a bit steep to me! I've just replaced ALL the discs and pads on my 9000 2.3 Turbo for less than the figure you quote. I did the work myself (easy to do, no complications in the job at all) using genuine ATE parts. Should be no more than one hours work for any workshop, so judge for yourself!
