Mine does this only when the weather's cold - the last few mornings it's been only about 5c (40f) and it stays noisy for quite a while after startup until revs have been between 2 & 3k for a while. My mechanic said not to worry about this - that no damage was being done. His does the same and he has exactly the same model as me (900T16VS). I can't help worrying about this though it seems quite common in the classic 900s. How would I distinguish whether the problem is lifters or timing chain? surfsofa On Tue, 05 Oct 1999 20:13:00 +0100, mailnopsamenacht.com (johann) wrote: >Dear Malcolm, >A couple of places are Eurocarparts 0541 506 506 (mail order) and German >and Swedish 0181 917 3883 - chains £20 + vat, tensioner £25 +vat (approx). >Beware ! >your guides are probably worn as well and this is an engine out job or if >you are cunning a head off job.
