Not laughing at you, but at all of the 'DUMB' Americans who are buying these great big SUV that get under 10 miles/gallon to drive ONE person down the freeway at 5 mph in rush hour traffic. Wait till gasoline cost $4.00 per gallon!! Several things to check: 1. Fuel leaks - I noticed my gasoline consumption shot up and found my fuel filter connections had developed a leak. 2. Added friction - brake calipers sticking and/or wheel bearing need work 3. You did not say it you had a manual or automatic, but you transmission could be slipping 4. Tire tread condition and pressure - low pressure alone can increase gasoline consumption by 10% Torsti Sarome wrote: > Hi, I`have Saab 900i 4D sedan -86 8-valve with 293 000 km (183 000 miles) on > clock. > > My problem is fuel comsumption, 10 liters/100 km on road (even 80 kmph > average speed) and 20 liters in city. > > It´s not fun to pay for 98 octane unleaded in Finland 1.07 Euros/ liter or > 4.07 USD/ gallon.
