Sorry to hear about the unfortunate incident, the world is full of barbarians! There is no respect anymore. A month and a half ago I attended a wedding with a friend and drove there in her '95 Toyota Camry. The car has some nice features and she keeps it in immaculate condition. I drove to the wedding on roads that I drive to work in my '85 900 and quickly found that the Camry was not up to the challenge. I had to slow down to 35-40 mph on the windy and twisty roads where I can easily assult them at 50-60 mph in my beloved 900. For an '85 it still handles like it's on rails, precise and surefooted. Toyota, as other manufacturers, makes decent cars but they are meant to be a means of transportation. The lead us to believe that these cars are a great driving experience etc. but not so. An example of this is a trip I took this summer with the same friend in the same Camry. We drove to Washington D.C. for the weekend and I couldn't wait to get there so I could get out of the car, five hours in the drivers seat was torture. The comfort of the car was meant for short to medium length drives. My 900 on the other hand seems to get more comfortable the longer the drive. On a recent trip into New York city another friend commented how good the seat felt in the 900, this from a guy who drives a BMW Z3! Why do I tell you this? Not to make you feel worse than you already do but to remind you that you own a GREAT car!!! When it is back on the road and you are driving it the broad smile on your face will be all that is needed to let us know how much you love your Saab. Regards, Simon.
