My transmission is acting weird. I have a '95 2.0L turbo five speed. It is locking me out of second sometimes when I try to downshift, and is kind of 'chunking' into gear occasionally, with the clutch pushed to the floor. The chunking thing can happen going up or down through the gears. It sounds like the gears a skipping a tooth or two when they engage. Is this a symptom of the clutch cable? Is there anyway to test it to see if that's the problem? The car has 70k miles on it. Most of the time it has been second gear, but it just happened in fifth. Being Friday, please help me soon, I need to know if I should take the car in.
