Subject: Re: Tire recommendations for 94 900S...

I recently put Fulda's on my 96 900SEt... they're a German brand that's difficult to find over here... thankfully my friendly local Saab dealership just happens to carry AND endorse them! I actually initially went by the advice of the service advisor who I know personally... he has a 94 SEt himself and put Fulda's on... then started endorsing them! I'm not going to say they're the best out there... but they're sure some of the best I've felt in a while. They give my Saab a MUCH cleaner ride... better over speed bumps and road irregularities... however they're Z-rated and really do stick to the road during spirited handling. Surprisingly for Z-rated tires they're also pretty quiet... a lot less road noise than I recall getting with the old Michelins (but then again I've had Falken Ziex on the car for the last 8 months that royally sucked, so remembering the old Michelins is a challenge!). Anyway, the only down side I've seen is that they seem to make the steering at standstill a LOT heavier than it used to be with the Falkens. I'm not sure if it's putting more strain on my steering rack, but checking it out recently it seemed okay. I consider this a small price to pay for the tires... the car itself handles and rides great on them. Price-wise expect about the same as the Michelins unfortunately... or a little less... but I and some other who've tried them find them superior to the Michelins in almost every respect. Not sure about snow-handling yet though... I'll let you know in about 6 months ;) -- Gavin Haslett thumper_svxnopsamo.com http://www.geocities.com/thumper_svx "Ahhhh...
