Don't let the subject mislead you. I bought my 99 9-3 SE because I thought it represented a nice compromise between functionality and performance. No one in this newsgroup seems to broach the subject of being both a Saab enthusiast and a driving enthusiast. Personally, I wish the lag on the turbo was less, but the amount of torque the engine brings to bear with the turbo spooled up- woo hoo! I find that the 9-3 SE is over-tired and under-suspended- too much body roll. A great example of this is taking a long sweeping turn at speed- the tires are begging for more as you slide in your seat as the body pitches to the outside of the turn. The seats are quite comfortable, and for a stock stereo, the Saab sounds pretty good. My only gripe would be the automatic climate control- does anyone know how to get the ACC to automatically turn on at startup? Its supposed to be a custom program option (which I asked for at the 1000 mile service). I still have to hit an ACC button to get the climate control working. Anyway, a great car. Hopefully, somebody else out there has some opinions on 9-3 performance to share. Geoff -- Geoff Hughes ghnopsamsz.net http://www.pagesz.net/~gh
