Since you are doing 32 on motorways, the engine must be OK. If you are doing short journeys around town, I recommend using a syntetic low grade (cold) oil if possible. The problem is that these new oils (even 0/40w) were not around when the car was designed, so it is an open question if this is permissible. From my understanding of the grade figures - they refer to a multigrade specification. But few people remember single grade oils. Hence 0/40W means the the oil is thinner than a 0-grade oil when cold, but thicker than a 40 grade oil when warm. If this is true, then there should be no obstacle in using such an oil ? I welcome any illumination of this subject. /Johannes BrianG wrote: > > Hi all > > Can anyone tell me what fuel economy I should be getting from this car. > > I am in the UK.
