Hi all, It seems that the throttle body on my '85 900 T 16v is filthy and needs cleaning. Ok, so my mechanic wants almost $200 for a fisk(?) cleaning; I have no idea what that is (not that I don't trust him), and can't afford it anyway. So... I bought a bottle of AmsOil Power Foam -- from my mechanic of course :-) and followed the instructions on the bottle (engine at operating temperature, remove air cleaner, spray stuff in, let engine rest for 5-10 minutes, drive to blow out deposits). But... it doesn't seem to have done much, and it didn't produce much white smoke, like I was told it would do. The only thing I can think of is that the Power Foam got too hot inside the turbo and simply vaporized without doing much cleaning (does that even make sense?). The question is, 'what now?' Should I: 1) try another treatment? 2) try another treatment with the engine cold? 3) try another treatment without the engine running (to give it time to get in and work)? 4) try another product? 5) wait awhile? (since I only did this yesterday am I expecting too much too soon?) All of your thoughts, opinions, and ideas are welcome. Thanks in advance.
