I have just again replaced the battery in my '85 900 Turbo. The last battery was installed Dec 98 and before that Oct 98 and Aug 98. I have fortunately been using Sears Diehards and so the replacements have been free. Their test indicates the car's charging system is OK and the battery is dead each time. But I suspect maybe something in the car is killing the battery - I don't know. I only drive 4 miles a day - to the train station and back. I know this is bad but could this really totally destroy the battery? I own a pretty good three stage battery charger but whenever I hook it up to the battery it indicates the battery is charged up and so it doesn't do anything. I am thinking of buying a new car, but if my commuting will kill the battery in it too, then maybe I should stick with my trusty (most of the time) old Saab. Any ideas?
