Subject: Re: installing cd changer in saab 900s '94.

That's funny. Everyone seems to want to install a CD changer in their 94 900s. I am trying to do the same thing and I'm not exactly sure how to do it either. First try reading this web page: http://www.saabnet.com/aas/1997.W50/1329987551.142011.html As far as I know the Saab mounting kit contains nothing related to wiring. It sounds like you will need an adapter cable for your CD changer since it's not the type that Saab installs. I would think it may be difficult to find one, but I don't know. Usually when one is installing a changer they have to run their own cable from the tuner/deck up front. When Saab ran that pre-installed cable they were assuming that a Clarion CD605 changer was going to be installed so they used that specialized cable, of course they want us to have a dealer install one of their Clarion changers so they can charge us lots of money. The point is it may be a rare situation for someone to want to use an already installed cable, so there may not be a market for cable adapters. If there are such cable adapters, I would look for one at your local car stereo dealer, especially one which sells Clarion products. You may also try online car stereo places. You may also be able to make an adapter yourself if the manual that came with the changer includes a description of the function of each pin.
