Maybe it's not the computer. My 1990 9000 2.3i was idling at 1200 rpm. It was a pipe (I'm not sure, if that is the right expression) leading air to the engine, which was not tight and therefore the air/gas mixture was calculated wrongly by the computer. This pipe lies behind the DI-Box an enters the engine near the right end of the DI-Box.
