Subject: Re: Reliability of late model Saab 9-5?

Saabs good. Audi not so good. Had a 4000 quattro, not a bad car, so I bought an A4, terrible car. Nothing but problems and while it went in snow it handled like dog dew. Engine problems, would accelerate like it had 5 hp sometimes...intermittent, the dealer never fully solved the problem, very dangerous and damn annoying. Several times you'd step on the gas and the engine would just rev, then BANG the trans would pop into gear (slushbox) and off you'd go. Floated like a 63 impala in the corners (bought mine before the sport package was available). On the plus side it had a very solid body structure. Honest to god, its the worst car I've owned since I bought a $600, 140,000 mile beat-up 1970 240z back in ''79 or so. Two Saabs 9000, now a 9-5 Wagon. Pretty much routine maintenance only. Reliable. =Ron=
