Try disconnecting the box or solenoid wires or removing the APC fuse and see what your base boost is. If it stops at about 1/3 into the yellow then the wastgate is OK but if it climbs right up to the red then you have a sticking wastgate or a leak on the actuator hose or similar. If the wastgate is ok you will have to methodicaly go through each component; Pressure transducer, Knock sensor etc to find the culprit - it may be something simple like a leaking hose to the pressure transducer. Remember the system is designed to 'fail safe' - if something has broken you usualy get just the base boost. One final thing - you will get more boost in the cold weather. In the summer your max boost will be limited by the onset of knock which may be at the red yellow zone. In the winter the intake air is much cooler and the onset of knocking will happen at a higher boost level. Regards John
