The CD changer and radio communicate to each other via the I-bus in the car. The CD changer contains what is basicly a LAN card to do this. The sound is ouputted through seperate wiring. Even if you buy the Saab unit and install it youself, you have to see the dealer. The CD changer (and radio too) must be "married" to the car with a Tech II. This is a $2500.00 + tool so you probabily do not have one. Once "married" to the car, the CD changer (and radio) can only be used in that car. If either is stolen, it will not work in another Saab without first "divoricing" it first from one car and "marrying" it with the other. The good new about this system is no more radio code every time the battery is disconnected or goes dead. It also protects the CD changer if stolen. This was not the case with the NG900 CD changers.
