That's an interestin point ! It seems SAAB's lab. has not actually had a look at the tyre and wheel. They were fed the information that the car had sustained damage to the tyre and wheel by the local GB saab organization. 2+2=5 . I will be asking them to account for the apparent lack of any damage to the soft alloy wheel ! > > Examination of a broken cast iron member showed that the rear wheel > had suffered a heavy blow? How could they tell that? A blow strong > enough to break a strong iron suspension member which didn't buckle or > damage the much less strong allow wheel??? In polite terms, that is > quite unbelievable, and in less polite terms, absolute bullshit. They > are having you on, and trying to shift the blame. Don't let them. > > Something called cementite, an embrittling agent, is in the cast. But they reckon this isn't significant ! I have made strenuous efforts to talk to SAAB in Sweden. Saab GB weren't interedted in any discussion about it until I contacted the Swedes. However, the Customer relations person over there, Elisabeth Johnsson, refuses to put me in touch with anyone senior. The Swedes don't want to talk about it as they say it is the responsibility of GB Saab. > And that is more bullshit. If there is a problem with the component, > that is their responsibility. Now they have produced a report saying accident damage, then logically I suppose the next thing is to ask for some money ! > >(ps they say that because I have obviously damaged the car, I will have > >to get my insurance company to pay !) > Don't.
