Subject: Re: Help-removal of broken "theft proof" lug nut

There is one option left. Not a pretty one, but if you have a Dremel type tool you might be able to grind slots on the sides of the nut, so the pieces will fall off. If you damage the lug bolt, well that can be replaced. I not promising how quick this will be, but I don't think the tool will over-heat with the temperatures you are experiencing. cs wrote: > Unfortunately, I rolled the car to get a good piece of the edge to the > top, to allow some torque on the upstroke, and it too promptly snapped > off, so there is little left to grip onto, so the best suggestion yet > appears to be going to a tire store, and see if it can be removed > there, I'm just a little leery of that as I have visions of some idiot > hammer mechanic going at my alloys (which new, with pre mounted tires, > had a SAAB $2500 list) with a sledge, or other such sort. > > On Mon, 27 Dec 1999 22:32:47 -0800, Rupunzel_B <wnstornopsamigy.net> > wrote: > > > > >cs wrote: > >> > >> Tried to put the Gilsavid snows on my 9k tonight, and a "theft proof" > >> lug nut snapped off.
