Ouch! My 96 900SEt came with platinum plugs in it... used car... previous owner... all that fun stuff. Anyway, shortly after buying the car (about 7 months or so) I started having problems like those described... would work fine unless I floored it... then it stuttered and seemed almost to crap out. Then without warning after a few weeks of that my car started to randomly run on three cylinders... just run like crap for no obvious reason unless I was moving. Idling was a chore! Anyway, when I got it to the dealer they found the platinum plugs had fried my ignition module... there's even a sticker on top of the block that says specifically NOT to use plats... $300 out the window for a new module. I've been having miscellaneous related problems since then... bad carbon deposit buildup inside the cylinders and stuff like that which was caused indirectly by those bad plugs...
