Lots of folks report good results with Bar's Leaks for exactly the problem you describe (a weak point in the 9000). I smelled the antifreeze, too, added Bar's Leaks, and the odor went away. If it's not too late, get the silver bottle (5.5 oz) of Bar's Leaks, pour it into the coolant tank and drive around for 20-30 minutes. If you continue to smell antifreeze, try a second bottle. If Bar's Leaks is going to fix the problem, that should do it. Otherwise, plan on a heater-core replacement (pricey if someone else does is, *many* hours and hassle if you do it). If Bar's Leaks fixes the problem, re-apply every six months (6000 miles) or so. B.
