Exactly. The real apples to apples comparison is the 9-5 wagon and the A6 Avant. Both cars are excellent -- well designed, good handling, and feature- rich. It's also true that they both are a bit underpowered. The A6 Avant is not available with a 5-speed manual, either. IMO, you can't make a bad decision with either one. The A6 Avant has the added benefit of quattro, which sets it apart from the Saab, especially if you live in the snow belt. OTOH, we chose the 9-5 wagon over the A6 Avant, even though we already own two Audis (an A4 quattro and a 4000 quattro). So far, we are extremely happy with Saab. As far as being clausterphobic, well, that's a very subjective area. For me the A4 is just right. Most of the time it's just me commuting to work. OTOH, if you plan to haul more than 2 adults, it won't be pretty. jim.robbinsnopsam.com (jim.robbinsnopsam.com) wrote in <jim.robbins-2912991755390001nopsam4884-a.sumt1.nj.home.com>: >I find it hard to believe that you can actually consider the 9-5 and the >A4 even comparable cars.
