Subject: Recurrent Drivability Problem - '87 900S

Symptoms: Check engine light illuminates; Car stumbles and stalls, and is sometimes hard to re-start; idle speed fluctuates wildly. This happens intermittently, but, of course, never for the mechanic (even after 3 weeks). Otherwise, the car runs fine. When warm, the car idles at 1500 rpm. New plugs, wires, throttle body cleaning, a vacuum leak repair, and a new air mass sensor did not correct this problem. Mechanic could find no error codes stored in the computer after the latest incident. Mileage: 120K Any theories?
