Subject: Re: Gauge pack for center console

Robert... I bought a used set from DADS auto Recycling in CA which included the Voltmeter, Oil Pressure (BAR), and Oil Temperature (CELSIUS). You can get all the gauges from anybody that sells VDO, SUMMIT Racing will order anything as long as you have the part number. I contacted VDO and they sent me the catalog that included all the gauges and Senders. Aside from the Water Temperature and Oil Pressure gauges, the Oil Temperature as proven to one of the most useful on Hot weather. I found that although the water temperature stays normal, the oil temperature can vary 20 to 30 degrees Celsius. On a trip from NH to RI through Boston I got caught in traffic with 90 plus degree weather and the air conditioning running (had to, sick child), the water temperature held just slightly over normal (running cooler fan switch), the AC was trying to keep up, I noticed that the oil temp was way up, also I could hear extra noises coming from the engine (oil breaking down). I shut the AC off (had to) traffic started moving, the water temp dropped slightly and the oil temp dropped to normal. The Oil Temp sender replaces the oil plug, easy to wire in. Also you can get the gauge holder from SAAB for less then 10.00 (to go in EQ slot) when i bought in 96 it cost me $6.00 and never used it, I had the used one from an 83. I like the older style the slots are slightly angled towards the driver (OEM). If you have any questions e-mail me. All gauges should cost about $24.00 each new. Good luck Joe Robert Feltus wrote: > I was turning through the pages of my 900 85-93 Bentley manual when I > saw that you could get a set of three gauges for the center console. > You could choose from an outside temp. gauge, an oil pressure gauge, an > oil temp gauge and a voltmeter.
