<Snip> Kind of agreed with everybody, but a couple of questions and points: I wonder why just the bonnet has gone, has this been repainted before at some point? Preperation is the key to getting an ideal finish, if your painter is really good he or she will probably strip the whole thing back to the metal. THe money is in the preperation, masking etc. Painting is expensive, about 1200 pounds sterling for a medium sized car here in Scotland, most good shops use a low bake oven and Iso- cyonate paints (a.k.a. Two Pack) which is dangerous to use yourself, unless you have the gear for it. One of the good shops here have a spectrum analyser for checking the colour, and they mix it up on site, this way they can match the colour exactly, compensating for fade etc, so you shouldn't have to get the whole car painted, unless you have the money of course..!
