Malcolm What concerned me most was how easy the clutch burnt out. I was just reversing the caravan up a gentle slope on a wet field. The wheels were slipping on the wet ground and I had to slip the clutch a little but it was certainly nothing excessive (or so I thought). After just I few seconds, I could smell the clutch lining burning. The company that maintain my car are Saab approved and provide a first class service. I would never suspect the quality of their workmanship. I've only just got the car back and now know that the clutch self-adjusting mechanism had failed. Whether or not this contributed to the burnt out clutch, I just don't know. Anyway, the main point of my original posting was to seek reassurance that the 900S is a good vehicle for towing my caravan. From what you tell me about what you and your friends get up to, you've certainly convinced me that it is. Thank you very much for your help with this. Andrew.
