Subject: Re: Cylinder Head gasket for 1984 900 16V changed shape?

Hmmmm, Jeremy Sounds strange. If it turns over I doubt its the head gasket. If it is the head gasket what happens is that you either get cooling water/oil out of the engine or into one engine. If you get cooling water into one cylinder it will only affect that cylinder, ie either it will only start at three cylinders or not start att all (too much water in the cylinder means higher compression). Naaaaa, I would think it is either the fuel injection or something electric, Well, you may still nead a new head gasket, but a I´ve never heard of a head gasket causing the car not to start the way you describe. The first thing to check should be that you get fuel to the cylinders. Make sure the fuelpump is working and so on, and make sure that fuel injection works. Second thing is to check you get a spark to the sparkplug. Hope that help you out. I will put that gasket into my car tomorrow. If the engine blows, I´ll get a new engine. ....and maybe hurl the old one through the window of my local Saab dealer ;) But somehow the car is going to run. It´s the funniest car I´ve ever had. It´s an ugly dinosaur and pure fun to drive. No ABS, no traction control, no 4WD. Just pure fun.
